There is a old story about Dunham Lake.  Back at the beginning of the last century when blocks of ice were cut from the lake, a wagon and a team of horses was loaded with too much ice.  The heavy load caused the ice to break and the wagon and the team and driver vanished into the depths of  the lake. One hundred feet below the surface they went and nobody could save them. But they want to be remembered.  Each year on a still dark night in late October, before the ice again covers the surface of water,  the ghosts of the driver, his team, and his wagon race out of  the lake and through the streets of the Dunham Lake neighborhood.  So beware when you walk our streets at night in late October.  You could be run over by the ghost  team.

The Dunham Lake Property Owners Association has a haunted trail for its little people.  These are pictures of the 2002 event.
